The Comunidad Valencia has the strongest property market in Spain.
The Institue of Statistics released figures in September 2015 showing that the province of Alicante
has the largest increase in property sales due to attracting non-Spanish speaking buyers and this
accounts for over half of all the properties sold in the Valencian community with 2,469 properties
sold in September representing an increase of 8.8% over the same period last year. House prices are
also increasing with an average rise of 9.8% in the Alicante Province.
Torrevieja and surrounding areas currently lies in sixth position in the list of municipalities with the
most property sales behind Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Zaragoza and Sevilla. When you consider
that Torrevieja has a population of 91,415 and it beats Malaga with a population of 566,000, this is a
remarkable fact and a superb incicator as to where you should be looking to purchase your new
home.
